Wonderful to know your life lately in a video. Talking it out is also helpful to process things over. The video is a plus, though. As a fan it’s a treat!
Been a fan of your art and music since 2020. 🇵🇭
From day 1 to now your songs has been helping me express and navigate my spiritual self especially during psychotherapy season. Thank God, my therapist said I could stop seeing her for a while to “just see how it goes outside”.
Similar to your journey, a lot happened. Life happened. Now, doing my best to move forward with compassion and mindfulness. I’m so sure your upcoming album will journey with me once again. 💜
I’m late to hear this, but I love what you are expressing about being in process and wanting to be able to convey a journey, the wrestle and the conclusion of a matter and sometimes it’s just not there yet. And that’s ok! That’s really honest and it’s best not to rush it. I’ve found myself beginning to write songs about certain wrestles I’ve had with the desire to be “Psalms honest”. I’ve wanted to convey the realty of something I’ve wrestled with or am still like many of the psalms and, with that, be able to “turn a corner” in a way and remember the goodness of the Lord and have some resolution. But things aren’t there yet and I have to remind myself not to force it. He’s all about the process and not just skipping to the end.
"My journey and my process is not a product" 🙌🏾💯 amen! Been praying for you and so glad with how you have been able to process through creativity, poetry and writing songs. May God continue to give you wisdom and that you feel His love in new, deep and unchanging ways! Blessings!
Hey Jonathan, thank you for sharing. I have a short list of people I'd love to sit down with over a cup of coffee. Alongside Bono and and George W Bush, you are at the top of the list. In some ways watching this video felt a bit like getting the chance to have that conversation.
Grief is an odd thing. Almost a necessity of life, and yet one most of us choose to avoid when we can -- until we find we cannot. I am grateful for the accurate insight that your completed project won't be "complete." We are all in process, and I appreciate the candor with which you have been willing to share from the valley and not merely the mountaintop.
Thank you for the update! And also thank you for sharing part of your grieving and healing journey through your music. I'm looking forward to the album.
I've heard from Bastille that there are certain personal songs aren't sung during their concerts as it was more for processing than for gigs, maybe there are songs on the album you would handle like that as well.
Don’t put too much pressure on yourself… music is like art, it’s not judged, it’s just lived and it flows through it, and your songs are that, they’re like a warm hug, and they give company, I truly believe that as a Christian musical artist you can feel pressure to share something so vulnerable and intimate of yourself (I say this because of the unrealized songs), but, God is the greatest creative in the world, if he put it in you to compose those songs and share them with us, that’s enough, you don’t need any more approval. I believe that God is proud of what you’re doing, you’re making an album that you like and want to make, and I believe that more than making us happy, he wants you to be okay with it too, honestly feel free to share whatever you want with us :)
and just wanted to say that your albums, especially the rivers & robots are often played in our home on sundays as we wind down the weekend after church. They are a blessing to us all. looking forward to hearing the new work when you’re ready.
Hey Jonathan, looking forward to hearing songs from the new album. I’m wondering how I will process them in light of my own experience having lost a parent, many years ago. I just wonder if it will cause me to face anything left unfinished. God bless!
Man just release the whole album as one long track. Then we will all get to listen to it as you intended :)
That would be fun! haha

Appreciate the vulnerability greatly
Thank you for this! The best art comes when we let God work through our pain. It's ok if you need to sit in it for a while.
Excited for this album! I think a lot of people will relate to it and finally have words to express how they have felt. 🙏🏻
I appreciate your vulnerability, Jonathan🙏🏼💕 God bless❣️

I liked this post as a video. I'm sure this album will speak to many of us deeply.
This album sounds like it would be great as a vinyl :)

Hi Jonathan. Prefer the unedited style rather than the jumpy cut style that seems quite common online these days.

Thank you Michael! :)
